Just read from Bob’s blog that Yahoo is going to increase the email storage space to 1 GB. Great to know that but I think Gmail still have some advantages compared to Yahoo. Listed out a few below:
- Gmail has a good control over Spam mails. The reason I shifted to Gmail is the spam mail control. My Yahoo mail is still having lots of spam.
- Conversation type — Mails are stored in a conversation type, so that I dont have to waste my time thinking ‘whats this email regarding’!
- Search features.
- As Bob said, Free POP3 access.
- When you upload/download attachments, it wont cut off in between which often happens with Yahoo.
Some disadvantages I found are:
- When you forward emails that have images or HTML, the recipient wont be able to see those. Or else you will have to attach it.
- You cannot compose HTML emails.
So far I think Gmail is good. They have to upgrade a bit to make it great.
